BEN RUSSELL
Ben Russell is Professor of the Archaeology of the Roman Empire at the University of Edinburgh. His research focuses on Roman art, architecture and craft practices, especially the supply and use of stone by quarrymen, builders and carvers. He is a member of the excavation team at Aphrodisias in Türkiye.
NILÜFER PEKER
Nilüfer Peker is a Associate Professor of Early Christian and Byzantine Art and Archaeology at the Department of Archaeology of Hacı Bektaş Veli University. She has taught in the History of Art and Museology Department at Başkent University in 1998-2015. She has directed a survey entitled “The Byzantine Rock-cut Settlements in and around Güzelöz
Başköy in Cappadocia between 2009-2014. She is the director of Mokissos Archaeological Excavations. Her reseach interests lie in the art and visual cultures of the Byzantine world and the archaeology of Late Antique and rock-cut Medieval settlements particularly in Cappadocia.
