The Mappa lab is happy to announce a new urban survey project that will focus on two innovative lines of research for the understanding of the urban fabric of the city of Pisa. Two parallel research projects will investigate:
– the material traces of the contemporary city of Pisa. Students, lead by a tutor, will document the ephemeral traces of the contemporary materiality of our societies in the city of Pisa.
– the geochemical characterization of building materials used in historical architectures in Pisa. The students, led by a tutor, will have the opportunity of using portable instruments to analyse the materials used in the ancient buildings in Pisa. The project is in collaboration with the DAM lab (diagnostics, archaeometry and measurements).
