Gabriele Gattiglia and Claudia Sciuto from the MAPPALab team at the University of Pisa will take part in the international conference “Embedded in Clay,” promoted by the project “P.I.P.E. – Profiling the Identity of the Producers of Ancient Egypt and Nubia through the Aura of Clay Figurines” (PRIN 2022 PNRR project). The event will be held from 4 to 6 February 2025 at the Polo San Rossore, Via Risorgimento 19, Room B1, University of Pisa.
Gattiglia and Sciuto will speak in Session 1: Identity and Performance in Clay Artefacts through the Lens of Archaeometry on Wednesday, 5 February, presenting a contribution titled: “Materiality in Motion: AUTOMATA’s Algorithmic Turn in Archaeometric Research.”
