The COST Action MAIA (Managing Artificial Intelligence in Archaeology) has officially launched. MAPPALab plays a key role in this new project, which focuses on discussion, exchange, and exploration of the opportunities and challenges that Artificial Intelligence presents to archaeology.
During the first Management Committee meeting, held on 20 September 2024 at the COST Association headquarters in Brussels, Gabriele Gattiglia was elected Action Chair, Francesca Anichini was appointed Science Communication Coordinator, Chiara Giovannetti became her deputy, and Elisa Paperini outlined the upcoming work of Working Group 1 (State of the Art, AI and Archaeology).
