We are excited to announce the official launch of the AUTOMATA project, a cutting-edge research initiative funded by the European Union's Horizon program. AUTOMATA (AUTOMated enriched digitization of Archaeological liThics and cerAmics) combines sensors, robotics, and AI technologies to create 3D models of ceramic and lithic sherds enriched with archaeometric data. It is part of ECHOES initiative, the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage.
The project, led by the University of Pisa (Italy), involves 12 academic and non-academic partners from 7 countries.
The kick-off meeting will occur on October 22, 2024, from 14:00 to 19:00 at the Gipsoteca di Arte Antica in Pisa, located at Piazza San Paolo all’Orto, 20. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about this innovative project’s goals, methodology, and anticipated outcomes.
The event will feature key project leaders and partners who will present AUTOMATA’s objectives and explain how it will enhance archaeological research through advanced digital techniques.
Free entrance, but registration is required by October 13, 2024.
